About the Artist

Creating from what moves me.

Art has always been my way of slowing down, paying attention, and making sense of the world around me.

I’m Vasti Ortiz, an artist based in Houston Texas. I wholeheartedly believe my work explores the transformative power of creativity to connect people and inspire change. I turn experiences and emotions into something tangible.

I’m drawn to the moments that are easy to overlook the quiet spaces, the imperfect details, the colors that change with the light, and the stories carried by ordinary things.

My practice

My creative process is intuitive and deeply personal. I rarely begin with a complete answer. Instead, I begin with a feeling, a question, or an image that stays with me.

Through my technique, I build layers of colors and textures, allowing each piece to develop its own character. I’m interested in the space between what is seen and what is felt.

More than an image

For me, art isn't simply about creating something beautiful. It is about creating a connection.

I hope my work gives you a moment to pause to remember something, feel something, or see something from a different perspective.

Every piece carries a part of my story. I invite you to bring your own story to it.

Thank you for being here.

Whether you’re discovering my work for the first time, collecting a piece, or simply spending a few moments exploring, I’m grateful you’ve found your way here.

Welcome to my world.
